Results: Dana Magnuson and I met on site with Lloyd Shisler jr. and his son Brandon, contractor's reps. Loyd opened up junction boxes & panel as I requested. No rough in violations noted. -ELECTRICAL - ROUGH CANCELLED 11/16/2017DMAGNUSON Notes: Rescheduled: - Met with Lloyd jr. and his son Steven Shisler. Existing PVC conduit was dug up to verify trench depth in several areas. Most of the PVC was at a 16-18'' depth. There is an existing 2' PVC conduit that comes from under concrete to the bollard to the immediate right of the entryway that is 16''. I told Lloyd jr. to lay caution tape throughout the entire pipe run (which is in a flower bed). I went inside and spoke with hotel owner Ilanya Bobroff and manager Sidney and told them about the additional digging required to complete the project. They were ok with the news. Lloyd jr. is planning on laying the caution tape today and burying it as he goes. He said Steven will take photos and I said that was ok and I will also stop back later this afternoon to verify thae caution tape. Verified new THHN wire (replaced UF) in existing light pole on south side of building that the bollards are all fed from. She said that she didn't even work there when this project was done, so she was asking for the history. I told her that I had heard nothing from the contractor, Shisler Electric, about arranging the inspection that we agreed upon in court. She said that she had emailed them once. Results: Lights completed without Permit after contractor and Hotel manager told in email to stop until Permit has been issued. No formal inspection done at any time, but it appears from looking at the light fixtures they do not meet the TOI dark sky code. Cindy Stonecipher, Administrative Assistant of Garuda Hotels (owner's rep.), attended, as well as Lloyd Shisler, electrical contractor. I requested, and it was agreed upon by owners rep: Double fee - an additional $200 Entire system inspected by Town of Ithaca Violations corrected Judge Salk adjourned until 12/14/17 at 9 AM >>>>>>>>> Owner's rep paid the additional $200 fee today. I to complete review and send Permit to owner w/ email copy to both owner & contractor. Contractor to then call and schedule inspection. Contractor to correct all violations. -PRE-BP SITE INSPECTION PARTIAL 2/7/2017MKELLY Notes: Failed Previous Inspection: - Lights completed without Permit after contractor and Hotel manager told in email to stop until Permit has been issued. No formal inspection done at any time, but it appears from looking at the light fixtures they do not meet the TOI dark sky code. Previous exterior lights there were removed because they did not meet coded - existing electric may have never met code - inspect all. Results: I went and looked at the bollard lights they installed despite my email of 7/1/16 (a copy is here in Municity application packet) saying to make sure to get the lights approved and have the Permit before installing them - the lights do not meet the TOI dark sky rule. Cate from Shisler Electric called me - we discussed the situation, and after I told her the date of my email, she was able to retrieve it on her end - then promised to further research it and get back to me. -TRENCH PARTIAL 11/16/2017DMAGNUSON Notes: Install 9 bollard light fixtures by front sidewalk.
