1. Consider Sewer Exemption – TP 22.-2-1.312
Mr. Howe: We are here to consider a sewer exemption request for 239 Dubois Road, and a special
meeting was called due to associated maintenance costs of failed on-site system. It would take 250 LF of
force main line to connect to the nearest public sewer main.
Mr. McNeal: Agrees, it’s a long run away from connection with increased costs. Recommendation based
on cost to approve exemption request. There is no concern of future development.
Ms. Baer: When subdivided 10-15 yrs ago the Town and we agreed to no further subdivision.
Mr. Howe & Mr. McCune: In favor of granting sewer exemption and moving to Town Board
Committee makes recommendation of exemption from Town Code Section 214-5 public sewer
connections requirements and installation of a new, onsite wastewater treatment system to the Town
Board.
Adjourn 11:08 a.m.
The next regular meeting is rescheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION QTY RATE AMOUNT
03.30 Excavation-
Septic System-
Pump System
Excavation and installation of a new 3-bedroom septic
system to Tompkins County Health Department
specifications.
Includes:
Proper abandonment of existing 1000 gallon septic tank.
(Note: Existing tank will need to be pumped immediately
prior to abandonment. This fee will be billed separately
through Gaggle Company.)
Installation of a new 1000 gallon dual chamber septic tank
followed by a 750 gallon pump chamber.
Installation of an effluent pump and alarm on separate
breakers.
Installation of a 2" CTS pump line from pump chamber to
newly installed distribution box.
Installation of a 12'x24' raised sand filter followed by three
39' downstream modified absorption trenches with a
maximum bottom depth of 10".
The new system will be inspected and approved upon
completion by the Tompkins County Health Department.
Any waste material and debris will be removed to an offsite
location.
All excavated areas will be back filled and rough-graded
upon completion.
Disturbed areas will be finish graded, rock-hounded, seeded
and mulched upon completion to promote new lawn growth.
Growth of new vegetation is dependent on fair weather, soil
conditions, and precipitation. It is the customers
responsibility to evaluate precipitation and water the newly
installed lawn as necessary to promote optimal growth.
Notes:
1. This estimate assumes adequate power is available in
existing panel to power effluent pump and alarm on two
separate breakers.
2. Natural gas and other utilities are known to be in the
vicinity of the work area. All underground utilities will be
marked prior to the start of excavation.
3. This estimate does not include local permits or engineered
plan fees. Permitting and engineered plan fees may be paid
directly by the customer or will be added to this bill if paid
for by the contractor.
4. Backfilled and rough graded areas will settle over time.
We do not compact backfilled areas to prevent damage to
newly installed septic tank and absorption areas.
5. Septic system must be placed at Southwest corner of
property to provide maximum distance from wetlands.
