The successful migration of records from the County’s Laserfiche archive to the Town’s in-house server, along with the implementation of user permissions, secure certificates, online forms, automated workflows, and PayPal payment integration, has streamlined Clerk operations, improved public access to services, and enhanced data security. Investments in backup and recovery—including upgraded NAS storage, immutable Veeam backups, and increased internal bandwidth— have substantially strengthened the Town’s disaster recovery capabilities and ensured reliable overnight server backups. Collaboration with New York State to deploy CrowdStrike has elevated network and endpoint protection, providing proactive monitoring against malware and vulnerabilities. Additional improvements — such as recovering the Town’s YouTube account after a Zoom incident, upgrading security camera systems, modernizing software tools, establishing a dedicated scanning station for record archiving, enhancing meeting and review spaces with large displays, and securing a $50,000 grant and state -issued two-factor security tokens—have collectively improved transparency, security, resilience, and service delivery for residents and staff.
