TOWN OF ITHACA
LOCAL LAW NO. 10 OF THE YEAR 2013
A LOCAL LAW AMENDING THE TOWN OF ITHACA CODE, CHAPTER 200
ENTITLED “PARKS AND RECREATION AREAS”, TO CHANGE SECTION
200-3 CONCERNING USE OF THE PARKS BY MULTIPLE PERSONS,
CLEANING UP PET WASTE AND LOCATIONS FOR FIELD GAMES AND
PICNICS
Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 200, entitled “Parks and Recreation Areas,” of the Town
of Ithaca Code, is amended by deleting from Section 200-3, entitled “General
Regulations.” the entire Paragraph B and replacing it with the following:
“All users of the parks and trails will behave in a reasonable and responsible
manner at all times and will take due account of the presence of other persons using the
facilities, especially when choosing a site to picnic or play field games.”
Section 2. Chapter 200, entitled “Parks and Recreation Areas,” of the Town
of Ithaca Code, is amended by deleting from Section 200-3, entitled “General
Regulations.” the last sentence of Paragraph E and replacing it with the following:
“Owners shall clean up any feces or other bodily waste emanating from such
animal.”
Section 3. Chapter 200, entitled “Parks and Recreation Areas,” of the Town
of Ithaca Code, is amended by deleting from Section 200-3 entitled “General
Regulations.” the entire Paragraph F requiring field games to be played only in
designated areas.
Section 4. Chapter 200, entitled “Parks and Recreation Areas,” of the Town
of Ithaca Code, is amended by deleting from Section 200-3 entitled “General
Regulations” the entire Paragraph G permitting picnics only in designated areas.
Section 5. If any provision of this local law is found invalid by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect any other provisions of this local
law, which shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 6. This local law shall take effect immediately upon its filing with the
New York Secretary of State.
