When received this book was enclosed
in very worn acidic 1/4 leather and marbled
paper sides, it had a partially missing split
spine, the front board was completely de-
tached from the text, as well as several front
sheets, it had no headbands, it was sewn with
broken, acidic thread, and the entire book
was deformed to one side.
It required "before pictures," dry
cleaning, paper repair, the addition of new
flyleaves, resewing on new linen tapes, new
rounding and backing, lacing -in or attach-
ment of the text to new non -acidic boards,
new headbands, spine lining and hollow
back, covering the spine and corners with
non -acidic leather, and the sides with marbled
paper in a style similar to the original, and
"after pictures."
