Honorable William R. Shaw
Mayor
City of Ithaca

Ithaca, New York 14850
Dear Bill:
At our meeting in March the Town was asked to establish,
from our perspective, the criteria for our long term fire
service intermunicipal venture. I am enclosing the crite-
rion developed by our Town staff and Safety Committee and
approved unanimously by the Town Board last evening.
By the time you receive this letter, Dave Jennings will
have distributed the information to the City Board of
Fire Commissioners.
I am also enclosing an advance copy of the Location Study
for a South Hill Fire Station that is a joint effort by
our planning departments although, the authorship at this
point references only the Town of Ithaca. Perhaps follow-
ing our meeting with Ithaca College we should bring our
study groups together to establish our next series of de-
cision points. Formal action may be appropriate at our
respective July Board meetings.
