Statement of property not used as a rental

This statement (as requested in your recent mailing) is to affirm that my home is a single
family dwelling and has been since 1993. I am and have been the only resident at this
address, and have no intention of utilizing it as a rental in any capacity. The basement
apartment as listed when I bought the house was converted to my woodshop shortly after
I moved in. If you need to visit to verify this, simply make an appointment. I truly am
tired of the government wrongly listing my home as a two family residence when it has
not been so for 32 years.

Dear, William Breen:
The Town of Ithaca adopted legislation that requires single-family dwellings, accessory
dwelling units (ADU), and two-family dwellings that are used as short-term and/or long-term
rentals to register for a Town’s operating permit. A separate operating permit is required for
each type of use. Our records indicate that the above referenced property contains two
dwelling units and has not registered for a Town of Ithaca operating permit.
Please register with the Town of Ithaca operating permit program by going to
ithacany.viewpointcloud.com within the next thirty (30) days and fill out a TOI - Operating
Permit and/or Fire Safety Inspection Application. If the property is not utilized as a rental
in any capacity, please provide a statement and email codes@townithacany.gov. If you have
any questions or would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact us.
