TB Resolution 2022–080: Adoption of the Town of Ithaca Videoconferencing Public Body Meeting Participation Policy
Whereas New York State’s Governor Hotchul signed Chapter 56 of the Laws of 2022, including an amendment to the Open Meetings Law to make permanent through July 1, 2024, the expanded
use of videoconferencing by public bodies to conduct open meetings, under extraordinary circumstances, regardless of the declaration of an emergency, under certain guidelines, and
Whereas, one of the aforementioned guidelines is the need for a policy adopted by the Town Board, and
Whereas the Personnel and Organization Committee discussed, drafted and moved forward a Video Conferencing Public Body Meeting Participation Policy to the Town Board for action, now
therefore be it
Resolved that the Town Board hereby adopts the Videoconferencing Public Body Meeting Participation Policy as submitted.
