HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB 2022-116 Award 2022 Sewer Improvement ProjectMEETING OF THE ITHACA TOWN BOARD Monday, July 11, 2022 TB Resolution 2022 - 116: Authorization to Award Contract for the 2022 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project Whereas the 2022 Ithaca Town Budget included $300,000 for the rehabilitation of Sanitary Sewers and Manholes; and Whereas pursuant to the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”) and its implementing regulations at 6 NYCRR Part 617, it has been determined by the Town Board that approval, construction and implementation of the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project 2022 (Project) are a Type II Action because the Action constitutes "replacement, rehabilitation or reconstruction of a structure or facility, in kind, on the same site," and thus the Project is not subject to review under SEQRA; and Whereas on June 28, 2022, the Director of Engineering (Director) received bids for the Project; and Whereas the Director reviewed the bids and qualifications received and has determined the lowest responsive bid in the amount of $216,636.90 was made by the lowest responsible bidder, Camden Group, Inc.; 9008 State Route 13, Camden, NY 13316; and Whereas the lowest responsive bid was under the estimate by $83,363.10 and an additional 10% contingency is customary and recommended in the amount of $21,663.69 for a total of $238,300.59; now therefore be it Resolved, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the award of the contract for the Town of Ithaca 2022 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project to Camden Group, Inc.; and be it further Resolved, that the Town Supervisor is authorized to execute such contract subject to approval of the final contract documents by the Director and Attorney for the Town; and be it further Resolved, that the Director is authorized to approve change orders to such contract upon receipt of appropriate justification provided the maximum amount of such change orders shall not in the aggregate exceed $21,663.69 without prior authorization of this Board, and provided further that the total project cost, including contract, engineering, legal, inspection, and other expenses, does not exceed the maximum authorized cost of $238,300.59 for the project.
