TB Resolution 2022 – 125: Setting a public hearing regarding a proposed local law entitled “A Local LawtoEstablish a Community Choice Aggregation (Energy) ProgramintheTown of Ithaca”
Whereas,the Town has been collaborating with the City of Ithaca, Sustainable Tompkins and the Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) innovator Local Power, to draft legislation enabling
a local CCA program, and
Whereas, the CCA program is designed to be an innovative, efficient, and affordable way to engage the local population in achieving time-critical local and state goals for decarbonization
and equity through the aggregated purchasing of renewable electricity and the development of regional renewable energy projects, and
Whereas,the Planning Committee reviewed and discussed the draft legislation numerous times and recommended it on to the Town Board for consideration, and
Whereas, the Town Board has determined passage of the legislation will be in the best interests of the Town and its citizens, now, therefore, be it
Resolved that the Town Board will hold a public hearing at their August 22, 2022 meeting beginning at 4:30 p.m.regarding the proposed local law entitled “A Local Lawto Establisha Community
Choice Aggregation (Energy) programin the Townof Ithaca.”
