HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB 2023-059 Award PWF Fuel Station Construction Project Contract and Inspection ServicesMEETING OF THE ITHACA TOWN BOARD March 27, 2023 TB Resolution 2023 - 059: Authorization to Award and Execute Construction Contract and Construction Phase Engineering Services for the Town of Ithaca Public Works Facility Fueling Station Project Whereas on March 16, 2023, the Town of Ithaca Director of Engineering (Director) received bids for the Town of Ithaca Public Works Facility Fueling Station Project (the Improvement), for the removal and replacement of the Department of Public Works fleet fueling station, along with other work specified and indicated on the Contract Documents, and Whereas the Director has reviewed the bids, qualifications of the bidders, and the recommendation provided by Barton and Loguidice (project design engineer) and has determined that the lowest responsive bid of $610,075.00 for the project was made by the lowest responsive bidder, LaValley Bros Construction Inc., P.O. Box 208, Wolcott, NY, 14590, and Whereas, Barton and Loguidice, D.P.C. has provided a proposal totaling $44,252.50 for construction phase assistance and inspection services, and Whereas on February 13, 2023, the Town Board authorized and approved the Improvement, at a total cost not to exceed $825,000 subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to the provisions of Town Law §220, and Whereas the referendum period has expired, with no petitions against the Improvement being received, and therefore be it Resolved that the Town Board authorizes the award of the construction contract for the Town of Ithaca Public Works Facility Fueling Station Project to LaValley Bros Construction Inc. and authorizes the Town Supervisor to execute the contract, subject to final approval by the Director and review by the Attorney for the Town, and be it further, Resolved that the Director is authorized to approve change orders to said construction contract, not to exceed $61,000.00 in aggregate, upon receipt of appropriate justification, and be it further Resolved, that the Town Board approves and authorizes the Town Supervisor to execute a supplemental agreement for construction phase assistance and inspection services with Barton and Loguidice, D.P.C., not to exceed $44,252.50, subject to review by the Attorney for the Town.
