TB Resolution 2024 - 062e: Acknowledgement of annual wetland conservation easement inspections Resolved that the Town Board acknowledges receipt of the annual wetland conservation easements on the Ithaca College wetland mitigation sites - Raponi and Rich Rd sites, and the Little site at 159 Ridgecrest Rd. conducted by Senior Planner Michael Smith. TB Resolution 2024 - 062f: Approve Permanent Appointment of Engineering Technician I Whereas, Connor Crandall was provisionally appointed as Engineering Technician I on April 10, 2023, pending the next civil service exam; and Whereas, the Tompkins County Civil Service office has provided the certificate of eligible listing for the said title and Connor Crandall was a reachable candidate; now, therefore be it Resolved, the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca does hereby approve the permanent appointment of Connor Crandall to the position of Engineering Technician Iwith no change in current compensation or benefits, retro-active to May 17, 2024; and be it further Resolved, a probationary period applies with no further action by the Town Board if there is successful completion of the probationary period as determined by the Director of Engineering. TB Resolution 2024-062g: Ratify Provisional Appointment of Assistant Finance Manager- SCLIWC Whereas, the Southern Cayuga Lake Intermunicipal Water Commission on June 6, 2024, appointed Tina Beckman to the title of Assistant Finance Manager, effective, June 10, 2024; now, therefore be it Resolved, the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca does hereby ratify SCLIWC’s appointment of Tina Beckman to the title of Assistant Finance Manager, effective, June 10, 2024, at the hourly wage of $30.90, in Job Classification 6, with full time benefits.TB Resolution 2024 – 062h: Designation and Sale of Surplus Items Whereas, a municipal online auction is held from time to time hosted by Auctions International located in East Aurora, NY, and Whereas, certain items have become surplus/no longer needed by the Town: Quality Steel Trailer (Fleet T-12) 2016 Gradall (Fleet # 48) Assorted Sizes of Galvanized Pipe Aprons Ductile Iron Saw with Power Unit and Water Tank 50 Ton – Shop Press (leaking around ram) 2 – used A/C units Used Drill Press Used Jamar Traffic Counters Assorted Kobalt Battery Powered Tools Used Commercial Garage Door Openers Now therefore be it; Resolved, that the Town Board hereby declares said above-described equipment to be surplus and no longer needed by the Town and authorizes its sale at auction with the proceeds from the sale going into the appropriate funds. TB Resolution 2024 - 062i: Acknowledge receipt of SCLIWC 2023 Independent Audit Resolved that the Town Board acknowledges receipt of the SCLIWC (Bolton Point) independent audit for the year ending 2023. TB Resolution 2024 – 062j: Recognition and Appreciation of Matthew Lincoln’s Dedicated Years of Service Whereas, Matthew Lincoln started his career at the town on June 7, 1999, as a Highway Laborer and in 2003 was promoted to a Motor Equipment Operator position; and Whereas, Matt was a responsible and highly dedicated snowplow driver, often working many hours of overtime needed to provide safe roadways, especially during some of the large snow events that impacted the community; and Whereas, Matt was known for his expertise and engagement in the Department of Public Works sign program and was the “go to” employee when it came to installation of signs; and Whereas, Matt was festive when it came to Ground Hogs Day and was known to wear his Punxsutawney Phil hat on February 2nd every year no matter who liked it or not; and Whereas, Matt was always able to work with any employee to be cooperative and collaborative and was especially good at making new employees feel appreciated and welcome; and Whereas, Matt was known for his paint striping capacities as he performed this duty seamlessly for a number of years using an abundance of caution regarding safety procedures; and Whereas, the Town of Ithaca has greatly benefited from Matt’s devotion, knowledge, and his desire to serve our community to make it a better place to live and play; and Whereas, effective June 15, 2024, Matt has chosen to retire from his employment with the Town, after twenty-five (25) years of dedicated service; and Resolved, on this 10th day of June 2024, the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca, on behalf of the Town and its residents, expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Matthew Lincoln for his distinguished and dedicated service to our community. TB Resolution 2024 –062k: Resolution of Appreciation of Martin Kelly’s Dedicated Years of Service Whereas, J. Martin Kelly, Electrical and Code Enforcement Officer, started his career at the town on April 30, 2012; and Whereas, Martin brought to the Town his over 17 years of knowledge and experience as an Electrical Contractor and another 15 years of experience as the Facilities Director for Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at Cornell University; and Whereas, effective June 22, 2024, Martin has chosen to retire from his employment with the Town’s Code Enforcement Department, after twelve (12) years of dedicated service; and Whereas, Martin was a responsible and highly dedicated inspector who had a desire to ensure the safety of the buildings and projects he inspected; and Whereas, Martin shared his electrical and codes knowledge during his time with fellow staff, residents and contractors; and Whereas, Martin was always friendly and willing to be assigned to help out other municipalities in need of Code Enforcement assistance; and Whereas, the Town of Ithaca has greatly benefited from Martin’s devotion, expertise, and his desire to serve our community to make it a better place to live; now, therefore, be it; Resolved that on this 10th day of June 2024, the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca, on behalf of the Town and its citizens, expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to J. Martin Kelly for his distinguished and dedicated service to our community.
