TB Resolution 2024 - 094e: Authorization to apply for a Justice Court Assistance Program (JCAP) Grant Resolved that the Board of the Town of Ithaca authorizes the Ithaca Town Court to apply for a JCAP grant in the 2024-25 grant cycle up to $30,000. TB Resolution 2024-094f: Appointment of Planning Board Member Whereas there is a vacant Regular Planning Board Member position due to a resignation, and the Selection Committee recommends appointing Sara Reynolds, 307 Roat Street, to the position; now, therefore, be it Resolved that the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca hereby appoints Sara Reynolds as a regular Planning Board Member filling out a term ending December 31, 2026.TB Resolution 2024 – 094g: Creation of Additional Civil Engineer Position under Civil Service.Whereas, the Town of Ithaca established compliance under the New York State Civil Service Agency to qualify employment positions in the Town of Ithaca in accordance with Section 22 of Civil Service Laws, Rules and Regulations, in which the Town must create a position and approve the job description before making an appointment; andWhereas, the Town currently has two Civil Engineer positions and a vacant Sr. Civil Engineer position, andWhereas, the Director of Engineering would like to add an additional Civil Engineer position, in order to backfill the Sr. Civil Engineer vacancy, which would remain as unfilled until a promotional opportunity arises; now, therefore, be itResolved, the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca does hereby establish the additional following position in accordance with the applicable New York State and Tompkins County Civil Service rules:The following position is established in the competitive class pursuant to Section 44 of the Civil Service Law: 1-(One) additional – Civil Engineer TB Resolution 2024 - 094h: Approve Provisional Promotional Appointment of Civil Engineer Whereas, there is a vacancy in the Senior Civil Engineer position but will be back-filling the position with a Civil Engineer position; and Whereas the Interview Committee interviewed one internal and five external candidates for the position; and Whereas the Committee has determined that Samual Harris, Engineering Technician I, possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position; and Whereas David O’Shea, Director of Engineering, appointed Samual Harris as a Civil Engineer, effective September 8, 2024; now, therefore be it Resolved the Town Board approves the provisional promotional appointment of Samual Harris as a Civil Engineer, effective September 8, 2024; and be it further Resolved the position is at 40 hours per week, at the hourly wage of $36.75, which is an estimated annual salary of $76,440 from A1440.100, in Job Classification “E” Step 1, with full time benefits; and be it further Resolved the said appointment is a provisional appointment pending the results from the next civil service exam for this position; and be it further Resolved, a minimum eight (8) week probationary period applies with no further action by the Town Board if there is successful completion of the probationary period as determined by the Director of Engineering.
