Whereas the Ithaca Town Board reviewed the proposed local law entitled “A Local LawAmending Town of Ithaca Code Chapter 239, Taxation, regarding Exemptions for SeniorCitizens and Certain
Disabled Persons with Limited Income” and held a duly scheduled andpublicizedpublichearingat itsmeetingon January 12, 2026, atwhichtimeallpersonswishingtoaddresstheBoard ontheproposedlocal
lawwereheard, and
Whereas,pursuanttotheNewYorkStateEnvironmentalQualityReviewAct(“SEQRA”)anditsimplementing regulations at 6 NYCRR Part 617, it has been determined by the Town Board thatadoptionoftheproposedlocallawisaTypeIIactionbecauseitconstitutes“routineorcontinuingagency
administration and management, not including new programs or major reordering ofpriorities that may affect the environment,” and thus not subject to review under SEQRA; now,therefore,beit
Resolved,thattheIthacaTownBoardadoptsLocalLaw 2of2026entitled“ALocalLawamendingTownofIthacaCodeChapter239,Taxation,regardingexemptionsforSeniorCitizensandCertainDisabledPersonswith Limited
Income.”
