Redistricting and renumbering of the
supervisory districts of Tompkins
County
It appearing that a vacancy has existed because of the
resignation of the district superintendent of schools of the
second supervisory district of Tompkins County, and that, after
a survey of the field in said county, the continuance of the
number of supervisory districts is no longer necessary to serve
adequately the educational interests of the county and that such
county may be served by two supervisory districts instead of three,
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to section 2201, subdivision 5,
of the Education Law,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the three supervisory
districts of Tompkins County be and they are hereby reduced to
two and that the towns of said county be organized into supervisory
districts and numbered as follows:
FIRST DISTRICT Towns of Enfield, Newfield, Ulysses;
and Covert Lodi, Ovid,
Romulus anA Varick, Seneca
County
SECOND DISTRICT Towns of Caroline, Danby, Dryden,
Groton, Ithaca, Lansing.
This order shall take effect April 1, 1959.

Dear Mrs. Hanshaw:
Upon the resignation of Leon A. Olds, District
Superintendent of Schools of the Second Supervisory
District of Tompkins County, effective at midnight
July 27, 1960, the County of Tompkins is being re-
districted and the number of supervisory districts
therein reduced from two to one as follows:
Sole Supervisory District of
Tompkins and Seneca Counties
E. Craig Dorman
District Superintendent of Schools,
310 N. Tioga St.,
Ithaca, N. Y.
1960. This redistricting is to take effect July 28,
Enclosed find copy of the order of the Commissioner
of Education. This order should be filed in the office
of each Town Clerk in the Supervisory District.

the supervisory districts of Tompkins
County.
It appearing that a vacancy will exist because of
the resignation of the district superintendent of schools
of the second supervisory district of Tompkins County,
effective July 27, 19607 and that, after a survey of the
field in said county, the continuance of the number of
supervisory districts is no longer necessary to serve adequately
the educational interests of the county and that said county
may be served by one supervisory district instead of two,
NOW, TBFJWORE, pursuant to section 2201 of the
Education Law,
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the two supervisory districts
of Tompkins County be and they hereby are combined as one
supervisory district, to be known as the Sole Supervisory
District of Tompkins and Seneca Counties, and that the towns
of said counties heretofore contained in said first and second
supervisory districts be organized into a sole supervisory
district as follows:
Sole Supervisory District of Tompkins end Seneca Counties
Towns of Caroline, Denby, Dryden, Enfield, Groton, Ithaca,
Lansing, Newfield and Ulysses, Tompkins County, and Covert,
Lodi, Ovid, Romulus and Varick, Seneca County.
This order shall take effect July 28, 1960.
