As someone who currently lives nearby (174 Troy Rd.) I support the project. It appears well-designed to
me. The electrical grid in this area is unstable and suffers from frequent brief power outages, often on a
weekly basis. I hope that this project, since it includes storage batteries, will help stabilize the local
electrical grid.

regarding the proposed Bomber Heights Solar Project:
My land is adjacent on 662 Coddington Rd -see attached.
Well,I would rather see a solar farm than a data center,or a halfway house for violent sex offenders,
or a low income housing project,on Giora Fix's land -is the town buying the entire parcel of Giora
Fix's land?
But I would like to see a map with proposed distances to my property line.And WHAT kind of stuff
(equipment/devices)will be adjacent to my land.Can you do this for me?

Hi Kurt,
Nice talking to you just now relative to Nexamp's proposed Bomber Heights Large Scale Solar Project
located on Troy Rd and Coddington Rd in the Town of Ithaca.
Any Large-Scale solar energy system —defined as ground-mounted solar with a footprint larger than
7,000 square feet —proposed in the Town of Ithaca is subject to Site Plan review by the Town's
Planning Board.Full details on the zoning and that review process are linked here:
httDs://ecode360.com/42548589.To clarify,and as mentioned on the phone just now,the Town is not
purchasing this property;the Town's Planning Board is conducting the required Site Plan review on this
project,which is located on this property.And as also mentioned,there are many submittals associated
with this project (for this coming Tuesday,September 1,2026 Planning Board meeting,held at 6:30

You asked about a similarly-sized project and locally,I recommend a visit to Nexamp's (slightly larger)
6.8 MW Lansing Renewables project on Jerry Smith Rd (County Rd 184)in the Town of Lansing,which
has been up and running for a few years:https://www.nexamp.com/project/lansinq-renewables.That
project includes 3.0 MW Battery Energy Storage Systems as well,so it's a fairly analogous project to the
proposed Bomber Heights project here in the Town of Ithaca.
As additional background,the Town publishes Planning Board agendas and associated documents to
the Town's Meeting Calendar &Agendas webpage (https://townithacany.gov/meetinq-calendar-
agendas/).You received this notification as the Town mails notices to property owners within 500 feet of
the boundary of a property for which a discretionary approval (such as,in this instance,site plan)is
being sought.

thanks for the suggestion:I went out to check out the Solar Farm on Jerry Smith Rd
very quiet!
I noticed it is surrounded by wire fences.
quesiton -how close to my property line are those fences gonna be set?

AND is it possible that any trees on my property line might have to be cut down?
($1200-3000 compensation fee per tree depending on size)

Hello.
Again,I am very much in favor of the Solar Farm project on Giora Fix’s land on Troy Road.I cannot
think of a more benign neighbor to my private meditation sanctuary on 662 Coddington Rd.The Solar
Farm will totally get rid of the deer population,and hence also the annoying trespassing hunters.
I assume we can blame the Nexamp marketing team for the ridiculous name “Bomber Heights
Project.”?Hey,they can call it whatever they want,even though that name is totally insensitive to the
residents of the area.I am an Ithaca College graduate,and I certainly do not consider myself living in
“Bomber Heights”-a totally made-up name by Nexamp.I dare say that none of my neighbors
consider ourselves living in “Bomber Heights.”And while I am on this topic,the “Ithaca College
Bombers”is a rather regrettable name for a sports team in the post 9/11 world.Try checking though
TSA in an airport with the name BOMBERS plastered on your luggage or jacket.But of course,you
are free to call it whatever you want -1 will henceforth call it the “Troy Road Solar Project.”

While I am ranting casually on the topic of the truly regrettable name “Bomber Heights,”and the ill-
conceived Ithaca College sports name “The Bombers,”the negative connotations extend far beyond
the superficially researched creations of those names.
