Zoning in the Southey Portion of the Ton=- Chairman Marion
rief y reviewed zoning in general in the southern area of
the Town , citing the history , ' previois reasonings by this
Board and others , - and the general interests and problems by
this area today .
General discussion by Board members established the needs of
the area and the problems which business and/or industry
face .
The 150 foot set9back for light industry was discussed and too
it seemed generally that the southern area of the Town now
zoned Light Industrial is unusable if a 150 foot setback
is maintained ,
A letter from B . V . Boynton to William Sulllvmq of Ashland
Oil Company was presented and discussed . It proposed a
belief that Light. Industrial zoning would be feasible in
the extreme southeast usable area of the Town along the
Lehigh Valley Railroad tracks and the Cayuga Inlets
Section 75 of the Zoning Ordinance The Zoning Officer
presented a pro _ em one ction ' , " Building Permits , "
of the Zoning Ordinanceo After discussion by the Board .
, the following motion was presented .
Motion was made by Liguori and seconded by Vasse . Carried .
For the purpose of providing better control over the con®
struction of not only buildings but other structures , this
Board recommends that the Town Board consider the following
amendment to Section 75 of the Town of Ithaca Zoning Ordinance .
Amend title to : " Permit to Build . "
Amend first sentence to read ,* "No principal building or
accessory building , . noV any other structure , including but
not limited tog tanks , power and pump stations , swam pools
and signs ( except as permitted elsewhere in this Ordinance ,
in any districts except an accessory . building in an agri
cultural districts shall be begun or extended without a �21dj. W '
pmt issued by the person designated by the Town Board ;, t°
Section 46 sub 7 of the Zonina Ordinance This Board
recommends the following amendment to Section 46 , sub 7 ,
