Signature Title County Town Village Date: Dos-239 (Rev. 05/05) Page 3 of 3 Adopted 12-10-2012 TOWN OF ITHACA LOCAL LAW NO. 13 OF THE YEAR 2012 A LOCAL LAW AMENDING THE TOWN OF ITHACA CODE, CHAPTER 221 ENTITLED “SIGNS”, TO ALLOW CERTAIN BANNERS AT LEAST 500 FEET FROM PUBLIC ROADS. Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca as follows: Section 1. Chapter 221 (Signs) of the Town of Ithaca Code, Section 221-6.A, titled “Residential and/or agricultural districts,” is amended by adding the following subsection (3): “(3) Banners that are no more than 24 square feet in area, and are at least 500 feet from a public road right of way and from the lot line of any adjoining owner, may be placed in residential districts and/or agricultural districts on issuance of a permit, as long as all corners are attached to poles by grommets or pole pockets and the banners are made of heavyweight fabric or have air slits.” Section 2. If any provision of this local law is found invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect any other provisions of this local law, which shall remain in full force and effect. Section 3. This local law shall take effect immediately upon its filing with the New York Secretary of State.
